"ood night."

while putting joshua to bed last night, i said to him "i love you, joshua." without skipping a beat, he turns and says, "ood night."

he seems to associate "i love you" with "good night." even when it isn't night time and i say those three words, he still replies "ood night." i wonder why he associates those two words. i am almost positive i tell him i love him during the day as well. i try to get him to say "i love you." but i think he is so genuine when he replies in his own unique way. it's like he put his own twist on "i love you" like we have a secret language that noone really understands but us. it's kinda nice to share that with him. i wonder how long we will be able to share this secret language? i know it might not be forever, so i'll cherish it while i can.

sigh. they are growing up so fast.

tyty is growing so much cause he is eatting like a monster. the other day i fed him two 2 oz containers of homemade baby food. he housed it. ryan, joshua and i hadn't eaten dinner yet. so when we sat down to eat, tyty ate a bit as well. he had a few noodles from our lo mein, a few small pieces of chicken, and half a fortune cookie. then right before bedtime, he downed 4 oz of milk-- he probably could have had more but i limited it. i was scared the kid would yack. this boy can eat! :D i pray he continues to have a voracious apetite.

why bottle up moments?

Everyday I think to myself, "I wish I could bottle up these memories of my boys so I can take them out at my liesure and enjoy them." I've also been telling a few friends that I wanted to start a blog to help me remember the crazy things my little monsters do or say. So this is my attempt to "bottle up the moments" with my boys...

On my way home last night from school, I stopped by Bank Street College Book Store and picked up a few things for Joshua and Tylertyler. For Joshua I picked up a Toolbox Matching Game, the books Hands Are Not For Hitting and Backyard Bird Watching. For TylerTyler, I picked up Animal Farms Touch and Feel book. Before bedtime, I told Joshua I had a game I wanted to play with him. As soon as he heard the word game, he started jumping up and down shrieking "Game, game, game!" I told him I had to get ready for bed then we could play... this boy followed me into the bathroom and watched me do my nighttime routine of brushing my teeth and washing my face and then grabbed my hand and said, "Done, mom? Game, game game!"

He dragged me into our bedroom, where he has been sleeping on the floor and was so excited. The game consists of 12 pairs of cards (12 different tools). I started out small and pulled out 4 pairs of cards. I placed them in front of him after reviewing the names of each tool with him once. Then I simply asked him to give me the hammer and then give me its matching card and he did it. All four times successfully!! I added two more pairs and he did it again. After eveytime he would clap. Jump up and down and say "Yesh! YEsh!" He was so proud of himself! I was so proud of him. He has the memory of an elepant. It is so amazing to see how capable he is now. He's no longer a baby.

No longer a baby.... Tylertyler is no longer a baby! He is such a capable little boy and always willing to go and tackle something on his own. His appetite is amazing. The boy can eat. Today he had two two ounce containers of food then he enjoyed some chinese food with Ryan, Joshua and me. He may be training to be the next competitive eater.

Today, TylerTyler and I were reading a book and he just kept on pointing, laughing and trying to close the book. As I read, he was babbling in his own little way and I just kept on smiling and laughing. Tyler doesn't often get moments alone with me. So, when we can sneak in those little moments of alone time I savor them so much. I hope he feels how much he is loved.
